Part of the Night Wave series

It is very difficult to capture a wave frozen in time, particularly in early morning light.  Personally, I am very tired of pictures of water that look white or painted because the photographer used a long exposure.   They argue that it shows motion.  To me, it just looks weird.  This is not a large wave, like those on the Pacific coast.  Yet, it has personality.  And, yes, it does look like someone has been dancing on the top of the wave.

In my pictures of waves I want to see detail.  I want to see colors reflected off curves and peaks.  I want to know I am seeing something new and exciting.  The line on the pictures is not from a poem, though it sounds like it is.  It came to me as I processed the picture out of my camera onto the web page.
